This listing is for the rug hooking pattern " Cardinal Mat", 8 x 8 inches. The pattern is hand drawn on a foundation fabric that is approximately 19"x20" and will fit on most lap frames or in a 14" hoop.I have serged the outside edge to prevent raveling. There will be a photo of the rug included with the pattern. I hooked this mat with a #8 cut (1/4" wool strips).

This is design is taken from a birdhouse my son gave me. It's in my front flower garden and one year I did have a pair of Cardinals. I wish they would come back! This mat would be lovely on a table or counter in any room in your house, would make a great trivet to hold something hot like your teapot! It would also make a nice wall hanging for that small space on the wall or a sweet little pillow.
This is a great beginner project and is very quick to hook up for the more advanced hooker. It would be a great gift any time of the year.
